Cruises from Fort William Town Pier
Wednesday, July 26, 2006

Had a fantastic trip out on Loch Linnhe on board the Souter's Lass cruise boat. The cruise leaves from Fort William Town Pier and this is definitely the perfect activity for exploring the area without having to exert yourself too much. We were even able to bring Dan (our dog) which was handy. So good sitting on deck in the sun, enjoying a nice chilled beer absorbing the spectacular scenery. Brilliant views of Ben Nevis.
The cruise goes to Seal Island which is a small rock in the loch where the local seal colonies congregate, our skipper informed us that they are safe from predators there, which is why it is so popular. We saw lots of seals playing and basking, and Dan was certainly enthralled he couldn't take his eyes off them! There was 8 basking and one small baby seal too! On the way back we saw three porpoise who swam quite near the boat. We were looking out for the Golden Eagle, but didn't manage to see him.
