Better weather than forecase on Saturday 19th Jan 2008 meant my walk with the Oban Mountaineering Club afforded us great views. We walked in from Inverlair with the idea of doing two Corbetts Sgurr Innse and Cruach Innse. There was good forestry track through a very pretty glen which gave way to quite boggy ground - hard going. We went up the nose of Sgurr Innse, I was glad for ice axe and crampons as it was steep and heathery - this was a tougher route than expected because things had warmed up and we kept breaking through the snow. On getting to the summit we were rewarded with great views of the Grey Corries and the Killiechonate Estate. However several hours of boggy ground and soft snow had taken its toll and we forewent our idea of the doing the other Corbett - Cruach Innse. Our drivers retraced our steps whilst we walked out down through the Lairig. This way out was less scenic than our route in, but all on easy going track. The drivers then met us at Corriechoille.
