Winter arrives early in the Highlands

Thursday, December 04, 2008

Although temperatures have lifted a little today here in the Highlands in the Outdoor Capital we have been enjoying a week of cold and snowy weather. Last weekend gave us great views with blue skies and snow. I was hillwalking and it was tough going breaking trail through the snow but the views from the summits more than compensated for the effort of getting up there.

Unfortunately higher winds last night meant that snow was blown off the hills which might make walking easier but means any chance of ski-ing at the weeekend is off.

Fingers crossed that the weather is as good this weekend as last, and even if not ski-ing, we can enjoy beautiful snowy views again.
